Maree Bowden helped establish Performance Wellbeing on retiring from international sport. She firmly believes there are many transferrable skills you learn as an athlete that are pertinent to living a happy and healthy life. She is especially passionate about ensuring you have the right balance for you and that you are engaged in things that are meaningful and add value to your life.

A Little Background

Maree has a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning Degree from Christchurch College of Education and a Graduate Certificate in Career Counselling for Elite Performers from Victoria University in Melbourne. Maree’s love for High Performance currently sees her work as the Personal Development Manager for Canterbury Rugby where she assist players with their lives off the field to ensure they are prepared for when their transition from Rugby come.

Maree believes in a holistic approach to performance, and that the wellbeing of athletes off-the-field is just as important as their performance on-the-field.

Maree is married to Peter, a Performance Analyst, with whom she has a son Parker. She enjoys an active life outside of work and loves cooking.
